Subgrade Cyber unifies dockets, plant, payroll, and compliance — built by site people, for site people.
Built by site people
I've spent 15 years in civil construction — nearly 10 of those supervising and managing crews. Today I run operations as the Construction Manager at a mid-sized civil company.
Subgrade Cyber isn't software written by a developer who once watched a YouTube video about construction. It's custom-built by someone who is actively in the field, dealing with the same dockets, prestarts, and payroll headaches you are.
I took a year off to travel — and to build this program properly. Every feature exists because a real spreadsheet, a real lost docket, or a real 11pm payroll panic told me it had to.
Five pillars
Every team in your business — site, yard, office, finance, and PM — runs on the same connected platform. Five domains, one source of truth.
Operations
What's happening on site, right now.
Asset Management
Every machine accounted for, every service caught.
HR & Safety
Tickets, training, and rosters in one register.
Budget & Overheads
Know your job's burn rate before payday.
Project Management
Compliance, plans, and reports the way auditors expect them.
Two surfaces. One platform.
Same data, two completely different experiences. Crews tap, sign, and move. Schedulers plan, allocate, and approve. Subgrade is built natively for both.
The Field
Built for supervisors, operators, and subbies on the dirt. Big tap targets, glove-friendly, and ready to work on a cracked screen with one hand.
The Office
Built for schedulers, payroll, and managers in the office. Drag-drop allocation timelines, live audit trails, and payroll-ready exports.
Run the numbers
Plug in your crew size and plant count. The numbers move live — no form, no hand-over to a sales rep, just the maths.
Above 80 users we move to a custom Enterprise package. Your fragmented stack alone is currently burning per month.
Flat-rate package — no per-asset surcharge, no per-feature add-ons. Plant tracking, prestarts, dockets, payroll, and compliance all included.
Equivalent to one recovered Day Works docket a fortnight, or a single Concierge Onboarding paying for itself within months.
Subgrade pricing is package-based — Starter ($69), Small Crew ($249), Contractor ($499), Civil Group ($799). Competing-app estimates assume $35/user and $40/asset per month. Your real spend may be higher once contracts, integrations, and admin time are counted.

Most civil crews are still duct-taping together separate tools for timesheets, prestarts, dockets, and compliance. Subgrade replaces that fragmented stack with one connected platform your office and field crews can actually run day to day.
Stop paying for 4 different apps. Get timesheets, prestarts, dockets, and compliance in one platform.
Timesheet app: about $15 per user / month
Safety and prestart app: about $20 per user / month
Fleet and asset tools: about $40 per asset / month
Get timesheets, machine prestarts, offline dockets, and HR compliance in one unified system that works across the office, the ute, and the jobsite.
One recovered Day Works docket can cover the subscription cost.
Less supervisor admin means less time chasing paper and re-keying data.
Annual billing lowers the cost again, so the per-head number drops even further.

Answers to what construction managers and owners ask most often.
Absolutely. You can build custom checklist templates for every asset category. An Excavator can have different checks than a Light Vehicle, and you can update them instantly across the entire fleet.
It instantly alerts the workshop. The system creates a "Defect" ticket in the Asset Manager so your mechanics can schedule repairs. The defect stays attached to the machine's history until it is marked as fixed.
Yes. We set up your rate rules during onboarding. Whether it's travel allowance, meal money, or double-time triggers, the system automatically calculates the correct rates so payroll just has to review and export.
No. Subcontractors and site visitors can scan a QR code to view and sign SWMS, Risk Assessments, and Toolbox Talks without needing a user account. You get the compliance record without paying for an extra seat.
The Competency Matrix gives you a traffic-light view of your entire workforce. You can upload licenses, set expiry dates, and get automated alerts before a worker becomes non-compliant.
No. That is part of our Concierge Onboarding. Send us your asset list and employee register in Excel (or even photos of your whiteboard), and our team will import and configure everything for you so you are ready to go on Day 1.
No. As of now this feature is not supported. However, sometime during 2026 we will be rolling out native Apple and Android apps that will support offline usage.
Every hour logged and every machine allocated is tagged to a specific Project and Job Number. You can run reports to see exactly how many man-hours and plant-hours were burnt on a specific site.
Supervisors create the Day Works Docket on-site with all the details—labour, plant, materials, photos. The client can sign directly on the device screen, or the system sends them an email with a secure signature request link. Once signed, the docket is locked and archived for invoicing.
Absolutely. The Report Builder lets you choose exactly what data to include: crew hours, plant allocations, weather conditions, quantities, site photos—whatever your project or client needs. Save templates for recurring reports or build custom one-offs as required.
Both the operator and their manager receive automated notifications before the expiry date. The Competency Matrix shows a visual traffic-light status (green, amber, red) so you can see at a glance who needs attention. This keeps you compliant without manual tracking.
Yes. Subgrade Cyber was built from the ground up by operators with real-world IMS experience running civil construction businesses. The system follows Integrated Management System principles for quality, safety, and environmental management, with comprehensive audit trails, version control, and competency tracking built into every module. We understand IMS because we live it.
